time for a post!
Still, not a huge amount happening but i suppose for the two people that look at this thing on a semi regular basis i will add something just to show that Limerick is still alive and hasnt been wiped of the face of the Earth. There are still loads of lotto stories doing the rounds but everyone has probably read them all anyway so no point in linking any more. There hasn't been a murder in the city in over a year now so it looks as if things are now concentrating on the local drugs trade and some blows that have been dealt to business. The papers seem to be calling heroin the new local epidemic and the Leader has a big article about how the Heroin epidemic is now rampant in Limerick.
On the subject of rampages etc, the Leader also has a story about the Romeo and Juliet production on going at the Belltable and how 20 people didnt come back after the interval!! But, it did receive a standing ovation at the end, even though there was the odd protestor outside! The play also received coverage on tv 3... Jaysus if only good things happened around this city, we would never make the news!!
And when all else fails we can always talk about property... There is a chance apparently that the Parkway shopping centre may be for sale next year, Lord knows what will be built instead - probably about 3,000 apartments. People in the know seem to think that the site may have a 75m price tag which seems to be a bit tinky winky even when it comes to crazy prices about land!!.
Back in the city centre it appears that Teds will shortly be re-opening. Whether this is earth shattering news or not i dont know, but somehow i dont think pubs and nightclubs are the licence to print money that they once were. At this stage if you are over 25 you are too old to be in the pub on a regular basis, you should have a 250,000 mortgage, a brand new 05 BMW and take about ten holidays abroad a year!
